Bob
McKelvey was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and raised in
Des Moines, Iowa.
After achieving a Masters Degree in Religious Education,
and then serving as a pastor in churches 18 years, his love
of the arts won over, turning him to a career as an artist.
“I enjoy the challenge of recreating the fluid feel
of the automobile. Cars are such a unique blend of engineering
and art. It gives me great satisfaction to complete a work
that inspires the viewer to contemplate both the beauty
and functionality of a vehicle."
Bob has a strong background in architectural rendering,
and he prefers emphasizing detail. His list of clients is
extensive throughout Michigan, including works hanging in
over 300 private collections in Grosse Pointe, MI. alone.
His mediums of choice are pen & ink and watercolor.
Bob’s goal is to create commissioned works which are a combined
vision of client and artist.
Bob's Art Show circuit begins
on May 20, 2006 at the campus of Michigan State University,
and can be viewed on his website,www.cars-byBobMckelvey.com
